Who am I

My name is Hope Clemens. I am a senior at Mason Gross School of the Arts in New Brunswick, concentrating in drawing. I currently live in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey and have lived all throughout Jersey growing up. I’ve been drawing ever since I could remember. I seemed to know that I wanted to be an illustrator at a young age. Drawing takes me to a place that no where else can. I can create whatever I want, whoever I want, and escape reality. I’ve worked throughout high school to get into a college where I could refine my craft into something more. At MGSA, I’ve taken classes in drawing, animation, media, photography, print, and many more to expand my knowledge and hone in on the things I like to utilize. As I’m working towards my thesis, I’ve been thinking about concepts of transformation and what it means to be in your body and change.

Outside of school, I volunteer for “Friday Nite Specials” in Red Bank as a part of their tech crew! We work to put on “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” shadow cast. I also have been working on drawing for a children’s book with Dow Creative Enterprises and work at Schwartz Design Showroom in Edison as an Intern.

Let’s get drawing!
